Overview
Your catalogue is the list of everything you sell. Without it the register screen is empty and nothing can be rung up. This guide builds it from scratch.
The order here is deliberate: set up the supporting lists first, then add products. Do it the other way round and you will keep going back to edit products you already created.
Setting Up the Supporting Lists
Supporting lists are the small reference lists you pick from when creating a product. Building them first makes product entry far quicker.
Under the Katalog (Catalogue) menu:
- Kategori (Categories) — groupings that keep the register screen tidy. For example: Coffee, Non-Coffee, Food, Bakery.
- Grup Opsi (Option Groups) — extra choices the customer is asked about. For example: Sugar Level, Cup Size, Extra Shot.
- Tipe Penjualan (Sales Types) — ways of selling that carry different prices. For example: DineIn, Takeaway, Delivery App.
- Brand — useful when you stock goods from many manufacturers.
- Supplier — who you buy from. Used again later in the Purchasing menu.
Under the Inventori (Inventory) menu:
- Master Satuan (Units of Measure) — units such as pcs, gram, kilogram, litre. Used for stock and purchasing.
Create categories before products. Cashiers find products through categories, so a tidy category list pays off immediately when there is a queue.
The Three Product Types
The first thing you are asked when adding a product is its type. There are three, and the choice determines whether stock is tracked.
| Type | What it means | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Olahan (Made-to-order) | Built from raw materials using a recipe | Iced latte, fried rice |
| Produk Jadi (Finished goods) | Bought from a supplier, sold as-is | Bottled water, cigarettes, packaged snacks |
| Jasa (Service) | No physical item, no stock tracked | Dry cleaning, delivery fee |
You can change a product's type later, but data tied to the old type is deleted. Change a made-to-order item into a service and its recipe is gone. The app warns you before saving.
Adding a Product Step by Step
Open Katalog → Daftar Produk, click Tambah Produk, then pick a product type. You will land in a five-step form.
- Informasi Dasar (Basic Info) — fill in Nama Produk (product name), pick a category, and upload Gambar Produk (product image).
- Harga & Biaya (Price & Cost) — set the selling Harga (price). For made-to-order products this is also where you build the recipe from raw materials, and the cost of goods is calculated for you.
- Varian (Variants) — create different versions of the product if there are any. Leave it empty if there is only one version.
- Grup Opsi (Option Groups) — attach the option groups you created earlier to this product.
- Review & Simpan (Review & Save) — check everything once more, then save.
If a product has variants, the Harga field in step two is locked and labelled Tidak berlaku — not applicable. That is not an error: the price comes from each variant, not from the parent product.
Variants
A variant is a version of a product that is genuinely sold separately — usually a different size, flavour, or colour. An iced latte might have Regular and Large variants.
Each variant carries its own data:
- Variant name
- Selling price
- Opening stock
- Purchase price
- Recipe of raw materials, for made-to-order products
- Its own image, if needed
- Different prices per sales type
Because each variant has its own stock, you can see precisely that Large has run out while Regular is still plentiful.
Option Groups
An option group is a question that appears at the register when a product is selected. The difference from a variant: a variant is a different item, an option group is an adjustment to the same item.
Each option group can be marked as:
- Wajib (Required) — the cashier must choose before continuing. For example: Sugar Level.
- Opsional (Optional) — can be skipped. For example: Extra Shot.
- Multi pilih (Multi-select) — the customer may pick more than one. For example: Toppings.
One option group can be attached to many products at once, so you build "Sugar Level" once and reuse it across every drink.
Sales Types
Sales types are for when your price depends on how the customer buys. Dine-in prices are often different from takeaway or delivery-app prices.
In Katalog → Tipe Penjualan you create the type, for example DineIn, and enter a percentage between 0 and 100. Then in the Varian step of a product you can set a specific price per sales type.
Going Faster with AI
Skoci POS has two AI features that cut down typing. Both consume credits, and credits are bought separately from your subscription.
Auto-fill from a photo — 3 credits. In the Informasi Dasar step, when uploading Gambar Produk, there is an auto-fill button. Upload a product photo and the name, a suggested price, and a description fill themselves in.
Recipe & COGS generator — 2 credits. Available in the Harga & Biaya step and in the Varian step. The AI composes a recipe from raw materials already in your system and calculates the cost of goods.
Credits are managed at Pengaturan → Kredit AI. There you will find Saldo Kredit Saat Ini (current credit balance), Paket Kredit (credit packs) for topping up, and Riwayat Transaksi (transaction history) showing what credits were spent on.
AI output is a draft, not a decision. Always check the price before saving — the AI does not know the margin you are aiming for or what your neighbours charge.
